Cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut control heat, chip thickness, surface finish, and productivity. They should be adjusted together rather than one at a time.
If speed is too high, tools wear quickly. If feed is too low, rubbing can occur. Use supplier data as a starting point and confirm with the actual machine setup.
